A Diamond in the Rough

Behold, here stands before you royalty

Behold, here stands before you gold

Behold, here stands before you awesomeness

Behold, behold, behold!

The majesty of the love inside

The sanctity of the crest of the bloodline

The rarity of the piercing eyes

The depth, the power, the prize

And yet, it is clothed in rags and dirt

And yet, it is plagued with toil and hurt

And yet, it is covered with maggots and mirth

And yet, it is sick, and lonely, and cursed

Who knows the way to unlock its true form?

Who has the heart to endure through its storm?

Who knows the way to make bitter transform?

Who has the power to release it from scorn?

For behold, here stands before you royalty

Behold, here stands before you gold

Behold, here stands before you awesomeness

Behold, behold, behold!

Time, it allows the pressure to change it

Time, it removes impurities, makes it clear

Time, it heals all of her wounds her diseases

Time, time, and time ever here

And he seeks out the diamond with passion and intrigue

He digs with his tools and his hands and his might

He goes down deep getting covered in filthy

He presses with the heart of a militant knight

And he digs up his treasure, he carries it along

And he takes it to the shop, and carefully works long

To shape it to mold it to its purest form

To remove all the dust, to present it upon its throne

He is safe not to crush it or take from its integrity

He wants to preserve its value, its worth

He polishes, shines it, with all of his energy

He protects it, he treasures it, he remembers its birth

And presenting it to the world, alas!

Presenting it to the first, the last

Presenting it to the clergy, the outcast

Presenting it to the few, and the mass

"Behold, here stands before you royalty

Behold, here stands before you gold

Behold, here stands before you awesomeness

Behold, behold, behold!"

Hope you enjoyed this, go and grow, and I'll see you tomorrow :) ~O.C.P.
